SAP AG detailed its open-standards-based infrastructure for its e-business platform at SAP TechEd 2001, held in Los Angeles earlier this month. The technology consists of three elements driving collaborative business applications--Web application server, exchange and integration infrastructure, and portal infrastructure.

The company says the offering solves the dilemma for CIOs to purchase natively integrated applications from a single vendor or custom-integrated applications from different vendors.
