Chemical Market Reporter, February, 2002

Senior executives, consisting mainly of chief financial officers, heads of investor relations, institutional investots and analysts, say most pharmaceuticals and health care companies are valued correctly, notes a Price-waterhouseCoopers study. Although those surveyed agree on the primary importance of eight value indicators, only two metrics--performance by business segment and earnings--were strictly financial.

The other indicators cover market growth and share by therapeutic area, product innovation strategy and more detailed issues, such as the R&D pipeline, effectiveness of product launches and quality of management.
