FORMOSA PLASTICS Corp. USA has entered into an agreement to buy the Illiopolis, I11.-based polyvinyl chloride (PVC) operations of Borden Chemicals and Plastics Operating LP (BCP) for roughly $35 million, subject to adjustments for working capital and other items. The transaction also requires the approval of the bankruptcy court overseeing BCP.

Upon approval, the acquisition will raise Formosa's PVC capacity by 400 million pounds to an annual nameplate of more than 2.7 billion pounds. Formosa already manufactures suspension, dispersion, compound and composite resins at plants in Delaware City, Del.; Baton Rouge, La.; and Point Comfort, Tex.
