BASF AG has issued over $1 billion in commercial paper over the Internet since February using cpmarket.com, exceeding its expectations. The cpmarket.com platform links institutional investors with issuers of commercial paper. "For outstanding debts of $1 billion, we can save up to $500,000 by issuing through the Internet," says Klaus-Juergen Boehm, head of the capital and money markets department at BASF.
