CIBA SPECIALTY Chemicals has obtained a license from Xerox for 24 US patents and their foreign equivalents. The patents permit Ciba, its distributors and customers to use controlled free radical polymerization for processes in which polymerization is initiated by a radical generator and controlled by a nitroxyl radical from Ciba The technology allows for improved thermoplastic, elastomer and holt-melt adhesive compositions.
