Eastman Chemical Company is implementing Symbol Technologies Inc.'s Intrinsically Safe (I-Safe) wireless mobile computing solution in its warehouses. The I-Safe handheld computer will run on an inventory management system developed by Eastman. The installation will be at Eastman's headquarters in Kingsport, Tenn.
Eastman plans to use the Symbol PDT 8146, a handheld computer designed for heavy industrial use as its preferred I-Safe device throughout its facilities worldwide.
