A COALITION of 26 agricultural groups is urging the Bush administration to file a World Trade Organization (WTO) complaint against the European Union's (EU) continuing moratorium against new approvals of biotech crops. "The EU's four-year moratorium has no scientific basis," says Bob Stallman, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

"EU officials have acknowledged this but were still unable to reach an agreement on a new approval process."
