Chemical industry calls for immediate steps to avert natural gas crisis.

AS PRICES FOR energy products continue to soar, the chemical industry, the nation's largest industrial consumer of natural gas, is calling on the Bush administration and Congress to take "immediate steps to avert a looming natural gas crisis. In letters to the White House and Capitol Hill lawmakers, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) noted that spot prices for natural gas have hit record highs in recent weeks, and supplies in storage are at an all-time low.
