SOLUTIA INC. is launching a price increase of up to 13 percent on nylon carpet fibers for both the residential and commercial carpet market segments effective March 3 for residential carpet fibers and April 1 for commercial carpet fibers. Brad Hill, vice president of marketing and business management for Solutia's integrated nylon platform, expects customers to accept the increase, which is in response to the run-up in energy and feedstock costs.
