DUPONT TEXTILE & INTERIORS' (DTI) nylon intermediates and polymers business is launching a global price increase of 10 percent to 15 percent for certain core nylon intermediates in the European, Asia Pacific and North American regions effective March 1 or as contracts permit. The increase is for hexamethylenediamine, adipic acid and nylon 6/6 polymers. The company says the price hike reflects strong regional and global demand. a tight supply of raw materials for nylon intermediates and polymers and the continuing rapid increase in the costs of energy and petrochemicals-based feedstocks. Off-schedule prices in the US for all grades of Adi-pure adipic acid will go up by 5c. per pound.
