HUMAN GENOME SCIENCES reported positive results from a Phase I clinical trial of LymphoStat-B, a human monoclonal antibody to B-lymphocyte stimulator, BLyS, in systemic lupus erythematosus. The company plans to initiate Phase II clinical trials of LymphoStat-B to treat lupus and rheumatoid arthritis in 2003.
