FOREST Laboratories Inc. reported a 45 percent increase in earnings per share (BPS) to 48 cents in the first quarter of fiscal 2004. Net sales rose 5 percent to $606 million. Forest warned that slower market growth for antidepressant Lexapro (escitalopram oxalate) could impact its 20 percent EPS growth target for the fiscal year.
