California-based Ask Jeeves, a provider of natural-language question answering and search technologies, has acquired the technology assets of privately held Octopus Software. Ask Jeeves expects the acquisition of Octopus' enterprise integration and information presentation software to enable its Jeeves Solutions division to help companies securely connect customers and partners to existing enterprise systems using its natural-language self-service interface. The company hopes the move will "accelerate and enhance" its JeevesOne automated enterprise software product.
