WASHINGTON (FNS)--Textile-apparel-footwear quota legislation, continuing to demonstrate strong support, will have to wait until at least Tuesday before it can clear the Senate.

In the latest Senate skirmish, the quota bill was virtually attached by proponents to an unrelated $75 billion budget reconciliation measure, though a final vote on its insertion was delayed until Tuesday or Wednesday. Senate Majority Leader Robert Dole, (R., Kan.) pulled the budget bill back after the quota legislation easily won votes waiving the Senate's germaneness rule.
