BBC Int'l Sues LA Gear Over Commissions NEW YORK (FNS) -- BBC International Ltd. has filed an $8 million suit in Federal Court, here, against LA Gear California, Inc., Los Angeles, for damages resulting from the firm allegedly failing to pay commissions.
BBC, a New York-based sales representative, said it sold more than $2.5 million for Gear and billed the company for 10 per cent of the invoice price, or approximately $275,000.
LA Gear paid only $78,000 of the bill, according to BBC, and refused to pay the balance.
As a result of Gear's failure to pay, the suit says, BBC has become the focus of lawsuits from foreign manufacturers and has been damaged in the eyes of these "long-standing and valued business relationships."
