Beatles File Suit Against Nike Over "Revolution' Ad

The Beatles are suing Nike, Inc., to halt the use of one of their songs in a television commercial, but the group will probably have to travel a long and winding road before any legal decision is reached.

The three surviving Beatles are seeking to have the Nike-Air TV ads, which feature the 1968 hit "Revolution,' pulled from the airwaves. The group claims the song was never intended for such use.

"We are not in the business of singing jingles,' contended Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in a joint statement. "We do not peddle sneakers or pantyhose or anything else.'
