Court Rejects Jordache's Trademark Breach Claim

The United States Court of Appeals here has ruled that a New Mexico jeans manufacturer did not infringe Jordache Enterprises, Inc.'s trademark for jeans for larger women.

The appeals court affirmed a district court ruling that Hogg Wyld Ltd., of Albuquerque, since renamed Oink, Inc., a marketer of Lardashe designer jeans, was not guilty of infringing the trademark Jordache.

Jordache had licensed Shaker Sport to manufacture and market Jordache jeans for larger women in 1985. That same year Jordache filed suit charging alleging trademark infringement.
