OCEAN PACIFIC The Next Wave
TUSTIN, Calif.--Ocean Pacific Sunwear, Ltd., might be the only $300 million apparel company with an identity problem. In the process of becoming one of the best-known commodities in the young men's sportswear and swimwear markets, OP has lost its image as a key resource for the surf shops that supported the brand at its beginning 15 years ago.
To regain that image--and to shore up its sagging business in the saturated West Coast surfwear market--the licensing and manufacturing giant has redesigned its logo, created a new trademark and expanded its business in Europe.
