Emb-Tex, Fieldcrest Cannon Hit by Suit
Swisscraft Novelty Co., Inc., has filed suit against Emb-Tex Sales, Inc., and Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc., charging them with infringing its copyrighted embroidery design, Vicomte.
Swisscraft, which manufactures embroidered designs to be used on household linens, apparel and other items, claims that Fieldcrest hired Emb-Tex, 112 Madison Avenue, to manufacture copies of Vicomte and has put the copied designs on bed linens and other items.
Filed in U.S. District Court, the suit claims Swisscraft had been doing business with Fieldcrest, which has offices at 60 West 40th Street, before the alleged copyright infringement.
