Confirm Tokyo Juki to Buy Union Special for $95 Million

TOKYO (FNS)--Tokyo Juki Industrial Co. has confirmed that it will acquire Union Special Corp. of Chicago from its New Zealand owners for $95 million. The purchase is expected to be completed by the end of this month. (See DNR June 22, Page 15.)

Reportedly, Juki will shortly begin supplying certain types of parts for industrial sewing machines to Union Special under a contract that was concluded last week with Union Special officials visiting Tokyo.
