Trying to Secure the Case Over Control of Guess LOS ANGELES -- A zipper became the topic of debate in the Marciano versus Nakash trial here over control of Guess, Inc.

Attorneys for the Nakash brothers, who own Jordache Enterprises, attempted to demonstrate that a pair of Guess pants entered as evidence was not manufactured at the date cited by Maurice Marciano, chief executive officer of Guess, because the zipper was not available then.

Jurors heard testimony from Donald Martin, a senior vice-president with the Georgia-based YKK (USA), Inc., zipper company. Martin showed copies of invoices that indicated Guess first ordered YKK zippers in January 1984. Marciano had originally testified that the garment with the YKK zipper was manufactured in autumn...
