Dassler Family Reorganizing Adidas FRANKFURT (FNS) -- The members of the Dassler family, who own Adidas Sports-chuhfabriken Adi Dassler Stiftung & Co. KG, have decided to transform the company from a family foundation into a stock corporation called Adidas AG, retroactive to last Jan. 1.

But company officials stressed at a press conference that there are no plans to introduce it on the stock exchange as its major West German rival, Puma AG, did two years ago.

In a public statement, Adidas said the new statutes will give the company "a corporate structure commensurate with the size of the enterprise today, which creates the optimal basis for managing the group and implementing corporate objectives on the international market."
