HOOKER CREDITORS CHOOSE CHAIRMEN

NEW YORK (FNS) -- Westpac Banking Corp. of Australia and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. are co-chairman of the 15-member committee of unsecured creditors appointed in the L.J. Hooker Corp. Chapter 11 case. Other members, according to court records, are: Baker, Knapp & Tubbs, doing business as Baker Furniture and Mastercraft Furniture; Citibank, Ltd., Australia; Commonwealth Bank of Australia; Heller Financial; IBJ Schroeder Leasing Corp.; Osterreichische Landerbank, A.G.; Mellon Bank; Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.; New York Times Co.; Pittsburgh National Bank; Sensormatic Electronics Corp.; Waterford Wedgwood USA, Inc., and WestPoint Pepperell, Inc.

The committee has selected Debevoise & Plimpton as its attorneys.
