UEBERROTH JOINS BOARD OF ADIDAS AG
NEW YORK -- Adidas AG, the West German parent of Adidas USA, said that Peter V. Ueberroth has been named a member of the supervisory board of Adidas AG and has joined the boards of Adidas USA subsidiaries.
As part of the deal, Ueberroth has acquired options for a substantial stake in Adidas USA operations as well as a minority share in Adidas AG.
Officials at Adidas USA told DNR they were unable to comment on the specifics at this time.
Ueberroth will be the first American appointed to the supervisory board. He was the Commissioner of Baseball from 1984 to 1989, and served as president and chief executive officer of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee.
