GUESS TRIAL NEARING END TODAY

LOS ANGELES - Closing arguments are expected to begin this morning in the Marciano vs. Nakash trial over control of Guess, Inc.

The close of the three-month-long trial comes after the Nakash brothers and other defendants refused to appear in person.

Judge Norman Epstein, who has presided over the case, instructed the 12-member jury Monday morning on specifics of the law involved in the case and then dismissed jurors while attorneys were expected to discuss other matters in the judge's chambers throughout the afternoon.

The Marciano brothers, who started Guess in 1981 and currently operate the company, are suing the Nakash brothers, who own and operate Jordache Enterprises, Inc., to rescind a 1983 deal...
