SHULMAN TO HEAD ACA JOE

SAN FRANCISCO -- Mark Shulman, former president of Henri Bendel, is expected to be named president of Aca Joe, a 39-unit casualwear retailer based here, DNR has learned.

On Wednesday, Michael Thompson, vice-president and general counsel of Aca Joe, said the board had scheduled a meeting for Wednesday evening to confirm Shulman and an announcement is expected to be issued today.

Shulman will succeed Peter Muller, who has resigned, Thompson said.

The troubled retailer, which emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in June of last year, has not been profitable from 1985.

Aca Joe has also named Al Arden to head up design for its men's apparel line.
