Shaping Up Lightweight Neckwear

Less is more with Goldenaire, Ack-Ti's new lightweight necktie lining.

Goldenaire, which is being introduced this week, was developed "to go with the new lightweight ties that are coming into fashion now," according to Allan S. Lerner, president of Ack-Ti Lining, a division of Collins & Aikman. Lerner pointed out that because the new lining is lighter, it must do more in its role of keeping the tie in shape.

The lining - actually an interlining that goes inside the tie between the face fabric and the lining (which Lerner calls the "tipping") - is something that is seldom seen or noticed if all goes well.
