THE NEW VANGUARD IN MEN'S BERGDORF DOES IT!
After last-minute heroics from the construction crew, Bergdorf Goodman managed to make its Tuesday night deadline and at 6:30 p.m. threw open the doors to its new men's store. As close to 1,000 well-wishers jammed into the unit at 58th Street and Fifth Avenue, a slightly winded Rick Rector, Bergdorf's senior V-P, laughed at the pre-opening frenzy: "There was a side of me that came out I didn't know existed."
The people attending the bash would never have detected the down-to-the-wire antics, many raving that it was the finest men's store they'd ever seen.
