ANNE BALL LEAVES BARNEYS

NEW YORK - Anne Ball, vice-president and general merchandise manager of Barneys New York, has left the company.

A spokeswoman for the store said Ball resigned Monday to "pursue other interests." Ball wasn't available for comment Tuesday.

Ball was responsible for merchandising Barneys America, Inc., the seven-unit Barneys chain, which reportedly has not been performing as well as expected.

Her husband, Frank, resigned from Barneys Oct. 26 as vice-president of sales and operations.

He had been responsible for the Seventh Avenue flagship, the World Financial Center men's wear store, Barneys' distribution center and the coordination of the Tokyo unit, which opened last year.
