Hal Kahn to resign in early '92. (chairman and chief executive officer for Macy's South Inc./Bullock's)

NEW YORK -- Harold Kahn, chairman and chief executive officer for Macy's South/Bullock's, will resign early next year, DNR has learned.

Reached at his Atlanta office, Kahn -- who was a staunch proponent of building a strong men's fbusiness for Macy's on the West Coast -- confirmed the resignation.

In an exclusive interview, he told DNR, "During the consolidation I was offered the New York position but felt that it wasn't in my best interest at this time. My family has been in San Francisco for the last 2 1/2 years while I've been in Atlanta and I would like to spend some more time with them."
