NEW YORK -- J. Schoeneman is the new licensee for Christian Dior men's tailored clothing, but Hart Schaffner & Marx, which has held the license for the past 20 years, has gone to court to challenge the new agreement.

Hart Schaffner & Marx, a Hartmarx Co., filed a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Cook Country, Ill., last month against Schoeneman, enjoining the Owings Mills, Md.-based tailored clothing manufacturer from entering into the licensing agreement for the manufacture and marketing of Christian Dior tailored clothing in the United States, according to Carey Stein, vice-president and general counsel for Hartmarx.
