NEW YORK -- J. Crew Group, Inc., has entered into a licensing agreement with C. Itoh & Co., Ltd.; C Itoh Fashion Systems Co., Ltd. and Renown, Inc., to distribute J. Crew merchandise in Japan beginning in the spring of 1993.
Sales are expected to reach $40 million on 1993 and $150 million by 1996.
C. Itoh will serve as licensee for the J. Crew products. It also has licensing agreement with Giorgia Armani, Emporio Armani and Franco Moschino. Renown, which has licenses for Norma Kamali, Adrienne Vittadini, Nino Cerruti and Henry Cotton's will be a sublicensee.
The agreement also calls for Renown to open a "substantial" number of freestanding stores and in-store shops in department stores.
