Barneys New York will open its Chicago, IL, store on Tuesday, Sep 8, 1992. The store has 50,000 sq ft of space and is expected to make about $28 million during its first year. It will offer an exclusive Calvin Klein line and the semi-exclusive Donna Karan line. The store's clothing prices will predominantly range between $500 and $1,000, and Chicago clothiers are wondering about the presence of another men's specialty store in a highly competitive market.
