Speaking of fiber acquisitions, one that was supposed to be over long ago is still hanging fire. It is about a year ago this month that the announced acquisition of the British ICI Fibres by DuPont was made. Thanks to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, it still hasn't happened. Governments are not Quick-Response oriented.

Meanwhile, ICI Fibers in Greensboro, N.C., under Mike Stokes' leadership and excellent staff, continues to do a very good business here. Particularly in microfibers and other specialty nylon.
