The widespread public acclaim for Giorgio Armani's 'nuova forma' fitted shape for men's suits and jackets will accelerate the trend towards this new style by American designers. Men's clothing designers including Calvin Klein, Joseph Abboud and Donna Karan will continue trimming shape on their men's wear lines, a process that they began prior to the introduction of Armani's new shape in summer 1993. The enthusiastic reception of the new fitted shape by retail clothing buyers is expected to affect marketing strategies for spring 1994.
