Rick Ford has joined Ruff Hewn, High Point, N.C., as president of men's wear. The position has been vacant since last July, when Sue Conway, who previously held the post, left the company.
Ford was executive vice-president of sales and marketing for Salant Menswear Group. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1992, he worked in sales at the Izod Lacoste division of Crystal Brands, Inc. His last post there was vice-president and national sales manager for Izod Lacoste Men's Wear.
At Ruff Hewn, a maker of men's and women's better sportswear, Ford reports to Jefferson Rives, president/CEO. Ford will oversee all aspects of sales, marketing and design for the men's wear division. Ford is based at Ruff Hewn's office here, located at 6 West 57th Street.
