KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (FNS) -- Goody's Family Clothing Inc. has named Edward R. Carlin as its new chief financial officer and executive vice-president.
In addition, Samuel C. Bower has been chosen as Goody's next treasurer.
Carlin, who has been in the retailing business for 26 years, will come to Goody's from Oshman's Sporting Goods, Inc., where he has served as executive vice president. After 12 years with the company, Carlin has resigned effective July 21.
Prior to joining Oshman's Carlin was CFO of Ups & Downs, and before that spent four years with Peat Marwick.
He succeeds Don Vandenberg, who resigned from Goody's last November.
Bower comes from First National Knoxville, where he was senior vice-president and manager of the trust division.
