Men's clothing retailers plan to buy casual neckties for the spring 1995 season, as a result of sluggish sales during the summer 1994 and changing workplace fashions. Summer 1994 neckwear sales have been hurt not only by the hot weather, but also by a confusing proliferation of different necktie products and looks. The fact that many offices no longer require men to wear ties has made selling neckties a fashion-driven business. Zegna and XMI are among the companies featuring casual ties with patchwork designs.
