NEW YORK (FNS) - 4 Wednesday bankruptcy court hearing to approve Bidermann Industries USA's sale of its Ralph Lauren Womenswear license back to Ralph Lauren was adjourned to Oct. 2.

A clerk of Bankruptcy Judge Tina L. Brozman, who is overseeing Bidermann USA's Chapter 11 reorganization, said the hearing was rescheduled because the judge had to take care of a "non-bancruptcy related emergency."

As reported, Ralph Lauren last month reached an agreement to buy back his license from Bidermann USA for between $40 million and $45 million.

Also Wednesday, Brent Garren, an attorney for UNITE, said Wednesday that he is "very optimistic" that the union can resolve its spat with Ralph Lauren prior to the Oct. 2 hearing date.
