WASHINGTON (FNS) - Domestic textile and apparel industry lobbyists have expressed support for Troy H. Cribb, a Senate Commerce Committee staff member, to be U.S.'s top textile trade official.

Cribb is slated to succeed Rita Hayes, who moved from Commerce in September to be the chief U.S. textile negotiator, as well as a CITA member, as reported in Friday's DNR, Page 8. Sources said the White House is expected to announce her appointment within several weeks. Senate confirmation is not required for this job. Efforts to reach Cribb for comment were unavailing.
