NEW YORK - For the first time in his career, Ralph Lauren will stage a men's wear event.

He has scheduled a luncheon presentation of his fall '96 collections in his New York showroom for Thursday, Feb. 8, at 12:30 p.m.

Lauren will present Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Ralph Lauren Collection, Polo by Ralph Lauren and Polo Sport by Ralph Lauren to a limited audience of press, a, spokeswoman said.

It will not be seated runway affair, but rather an informal presentation with live models, the spokeswoman said. A buffet lunch will follow.

The number of guests has Pot been finalized yet, nor have any arrangements been made for transportation to Lauren's showroom at 650 Madison Avenue.
