Gene Pressman of Barneys New York says the retailer hopes to open a San Francisco, CA, outlet despite its Chapter 11 reorganization. Once the bankruptcy is resolved, San Francisco will be the chain's first new market, the Barneys' co-chairman stated at a press conference. The retailer also announced launch of a bath elixir from basketball player Magic Johnson.
BEVERLY HILLS - Barneys New York is still hot for San Francisco.
Gene Pressman, co-chairman of Barneys, told DNR he remains interested in opening a Barneys store in downtown San Francisco, although any move is contingent on the retailer's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case.
"We would love to be there, no question," Pressman said. "It's in the back of my mind."
