Retail sales of men's casual business clothing grew by 12% between 1993 and 1995, according to a report by NPD Group that gives further evidence of the trend towards casualization in the US office. The report estimated that in 1995, men's casual business attire accounted for approximately 25% of the $46 billion spent on men's clothing during the year. The report also forecasted that the sales trend would continue at the same pace until the end of 1997 at least. NPD Group last analyzed the FridayWear clothing market in 1994.
