PARIS -- Armani is still awaiting the green light from French authorities to begin working on the boutique that was slated to open on Boulevard St. Germain in July. The holdup is due to clearance regulations by the French Government to make sure that the store's design conforms with historical zoning rules and other requirements for stores larger than 3,300 square feet.
"We hope that the permission to work on the store will be granted," a spokeswoman said. "But who can say if it will be." If given the go-ahead in the near future, the Armani store is slated to open in early fall.
