MILLER TO ASSUME LARGER APPAREL ROLE; SUCCESSOR FOR TUCKER EXPECTED SHORTLY

NEW YORK -- Saks Fifth Avenue has named a new top merchant.

Jeanne B. Daniel, 41, is joining the specialty store chain as executive vice-president of merchandising. Formerly executive vice-president of merchandising and marketing for Tiffany & Co., Daniel will report to Philip B. Miller, chairman and CEO.

Daniel, a 12-year Tiffany veteran, will be responsible for all merchandising and fashion initiatives for the company and will also become a member of the executive committee.

In order to work more closely with Daniel, who lacks an apparel background, Miller is transferring day-to-day operation of the company's Off 5th and Folio division to Brian Kendrick,...
