NEW YORK -- Saks Fifth Avenue is experimenting with new technology within one of its men's shops to help custom clothes customers get even more personalized service than they already do.

A new image-rich database designed to create and maintain electronic profiles of individual customers debuted in the Alan Flusser Shop at Saks' New York store recently. The Flusser shop is using the system to stay abreast of the size and style preferences of its customers, a task that traditionally required labor-intensive, handwritten record keeping.
