One of the perks of a European business trip is to shop the top stores in Milan, Paris or London to see what the rest of the world is doing. DNR caught up with Fred Stollmack, president, Weatherproof Garment Co., in London last month, and tagged along with him as he combed the racks for the outerwear that would put a new spin on fall 2000.
The shopping spree began at 9:30 a.m. in front of door number five at Harrods, the legendary London department store. Stollmack was on time and, as usual, on his mobile phone, this time with Eliot Peyser, chairman. Stollmack was recapping what he found during his previous three days in Paris.
