Here's the best thing about store parties: If they didn't exist, when would the fashion set have time to buy (or at least pick out) holiday presents? Not to mention whatever they're going to wear to the next night.

Indeed, the pre-Christmas whirlwind of parties, store and otherwise, was headier than the tornado that swept Dorothy of out Kansas. Even the oft-sacred weekend was sacrificed for the chance to mix and mingle.

Saturday the 11th found the supersocial set, plus actors Michael Keaton, Chris Noth, Andy Dick and Griffin Dunne, toasting the following night's Vogue/VHI Fashion Awards and well-funded new beauty site gloss.com at the just-days-old Centro Fly, an Austin Powers-meets-house-music club on the old Tramps site.
