LVMH ACQUIRES CRUISE SHIP OPERATOR FOR $300M.(Brief Article)

NEW YORK -- LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton has made another deal.

The luxury goods company on Tuesday announced it has acquired Miami Cruiseline Services, the world's leading operator of duty-free retail shops to the cruise industry, for approximately $300 million.

The company will be operated by LVMH's Selective Distribution Group, which includes DFS Group. DFS will provide managerial, merchandising and logistical support to Miami Cruiseline's cruise operations. The current Miami Cruiseline management team will be kept intact and will also continue to operate the duty-free retail concessions at the Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., airports.
