Roberto Menichetti: An Old World Touch for Today

"I have one foot in tradition and one in the future," says Roberto Menichetti, creative director at Burberry, who jolted it into the 21st century with his visionary Prorsum collection of men's clothing and sportswear a few years ago. He also oversees everything that's Burberry, the venerable British company with an icon plaid that was synonymous with trench coat linings and not much more.

That is, until former U.S. retailer Rose Marie Bravo came on board as CEO three years ago and it didn't take long for her to handpick Menichetti to call all of the fashion shots.
